Marijuana: Legalize or not?

Marijuana is actually not that bad. If you do your research on its effects on the brain, you would be really shocked at how harmless it is (with the exception of the physical act of smoking it). Alcohol kills brain cells, marijuana does not. Marijuana enhances whatever you do, making good things even better. Long walks, listening to music, watching tv, making love etc. all improved if done after smoking marijuana. Marijuana isn't a drug, drugs are substances that you add a bunch of chemicals to get a drug. Marijuana is a dry, shredded green and brown mix of flowers, stems, seeds, and leaves derived from the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. The main active chemical in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC you don't have to add any chemicals to it. you can pick it of the plant and smoke it, you can't do that with coke, crack, heroine, etc. I personally think it shouldn't be categorize as a drug.

Marijuana does have its health issues like affects on the brain, lungs, and physical actions but so does other medicines it doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about aspirin or the most sophisticated pharmaceuticals on the market, all drugs come with side effects. Many are minor, some are just an inconvenience, a few are serious, and some are just plain strange. But like all over the counter drugs Marijuana helps people with health problems with the risk of side affects. Marijuana has therapeutic potential for relieving pain, controlling nausea, stimulating appetite, and decreasing ocular pressure synthetic compounds, such as dronabinol (Marinol) and nabilone (Cesamet), which are FDA approved. Although Marijuana is the most used drug in the U.S its safer than alcohol and cigarettes which are legal. People don’t die from Marijuana and its illegal, but alcohol has 100,000 deaths occur each year due to the effects of alcohol, according to the NHTSA web site and cigarettes claim more than 443,000 premature deaths in the United States each year. But alcohol and cigarettes are legal! Am I the only one that finds this wrong?
